Car history:
The Corvette was introduced in 1953 with only 300 built. 1954 is the first full year
of production and a total of only 3,640 were built. This car was production number
2,935 built at the St. Louis Plant. The car is Polo White with Sportsman Red vinyl
interior and tan canvas top. The car has the original Chevrolet Blue Flame 235
CID 150 HP overhead valve in-line six engine, SN 0704507-F54YQ, and Powerglide
2 speed automatic transmission with floor shift and a 3.55 ratio rear axle. The
latter engine numbers indicate a Flint built late 1954 155 HP Corvette engine (most
54 Corvette engines were 150 HP, but it was claimed that some of the late production
units had 155 HP). The engine compartment is clean, well finished, detailed, and
very original and stock. The cooling system has the correct chrome overflow tank
mounted along side the engine.

The block is casting number 3835911, heads are casting number 3836241. Engine
has the special manifold with three Carter YH single barrel side draft carburetors
with the correct original air cleaners (these are the late series 54 carburetors.
Model # 20669A). Engine is nicely finished in Chevrolet Blue with blue valve
covers with " Blue Flame 150" decals. Engine and all accessories are well finished
and belts, hoses, and wiring are all good. The car starts right up, runs very smooth,
no smoke and a nice throaty exhaust.

The undercarriage and suspension are in very nice condition and nearly spotless.
There are very minor surface spider cracks in the fiberglass underbody. Car sets
and drives well.

The vehicle has been stored in an enclosed garage and run monthly since purchased
in March 18, 1997. This is an excellent example of a very original 1954 Corvette
Convertible. Car is appraised as a Number 3 "plus" on the Old Cars Price Guide
rating system. Vehicle drives well and is in good mechanical condition. The
Corvette is in very good appearing condition for its age, and with minor exterior,
engine, interior, and trim detailing could be a # 2 near show quality driver.
